Last Saturday we celebrated Elise's 3rd birthday with a family birthday party. In honor of Elise's favorite stuffed animal (as noted in previous posts!!), we had a 'Boppy' lamb theme gathering.
Everyone had lamb place cards....
It turns out that it's hard to just buy lamb party items when it's not Easter so it morphed a bit into a farm theme-- guess it's not fair to leave out the other animals.
Present time! We started the party with presents... afterall, what three year old wants to wait?
Then it was time for dinner. We made homemade Stromboli's (meatball and green olives along with pepperoni and black olives), salad and fruit salsa with cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips. The birthday girl didn't eat very much as the appetizer hour beforehand was quite filling.
Nana and I made a lamb cake... using Elise's great, great grandmother's mold. It was quite a chore getting it out after it was baked. The mold was supposed to form a lamb that could sit upright. After prying out all the little pieces, we decided that it was best for our lamb to lay down. The nice thing about it being broken that it was already precut! After frosting it together, the final result wasn't too bad.
Nana attempting to piece our cake together... with our tortilla chips cooling in the background.
What a mess but look... not too bad in the end!!!!
Elise was fixated on eating our cake... but promptly forgot about it when the ice cream was served. She's an ice cream girl at heart.
Not sure what dance move this is.....
I've attempted to post a video... I'm not sure if it will play or not- a work in progress.
