Discovery

We have almost neared the 5 month mark. There are days that I swear she has grown from the day before. What is the most enjoyable is watching Elise learn. Jeff recently set up her Einstein Discovery Center- filled with toys that light up, make sounds, and move. While she is still a bit small to reach and play with all of the toys, she obviously is interested in trying to move and touch each part. Her little hands get more steady each day and it's only a matter of time that she'll be able to connect her thoughts to her actions.

Yesterday, Elise finally noticed our dog Brutus. She smiled and cooed as he sat down near her and loved it when I moved her hand over his soft fur. Today, another light bulb went off as Garth snuggled up near her. It'll be a matter of time before they will reap the benefits of a baby eating food from the table!

We are getting closer to rolling over. Jeff and I make it a point to place Elise on her belly several times a day. She's usually not happy with the workout but has gotten stronger and more comfortable on her stomach. This past week she's been kicking and moving more and more- almost to the point of losing her balance and tumbling back onto her back.
