See ya June!

Where did June go? The weather has been unseasonably cool and extra rainy but we've been busy, busy busy!
Cecilia and Hadley- 5.5 months

The girls have been loving their food! We are currently giving the girls 2 meals a day of food and they don't appear to be missing their bottles at all. It can be a bit crazy feeding the babies alone if they are both are starving as you can't spoon the food in fast enough between them both! It probably is comical to watch as the 'spooner' is moving at double time!
Cecilia gives bananas a thumbs up!

My sister-in-law brought cousins Amelie and Walden in for an Ohio visit. It was the first time she had met the twins, and our first time meeting Walden. Unfortunately both Jeff and my brother had to work and missed the get together.
Elise, Hadley, Walden, Amelie, and Cecilia
The cousins had a blast together-- swimming and playing outside. It was nice to see Walden crawling around. He looks so much like my brother that it's amazing. We so appreciate that Rachel was able to bring the gang to us for the visit as it's difficult for us to travel with the babies right now (slave to the naps!). I wish that they lived closer so we could get together more often.

Elise and I have planted another vegetable garden this year. It's obviously not as ambitious as last year's project, but should still have lots of bounty. It's the first year we are trying to grow pumpkins. I'm skeptical they will turn out as my watermelons were such a bust last year. We also have grown a new variety in our tomato section-- the elusive retriever plant!!

Hadley's face says it all-- a summer cold has hit the babies and hard. We've been dealing with snotty noses and coughs for over the past week. The other day we lost power from a huge storm for the entire night. It was the height of snot and coughing-- and the babies slept poorly. I spent most of the night running in and out- rocking and soothing the girls with my flashlight in hand. It will be nice when they are totally well and back to sleeping 7pm to 7am without crying out for me!

Elise's first library card
The Way public library heard that Elise was turning 4.5 years old and invited her to apply for her first library card (ok-- maybe that's a slight exaggeration!). Jeff took Elise the other rainy day to pick up her new card. She was so excited! Her first book she checked out-- a chapter book about fairies by Daisy Meadows.

Hadley is now rolling over from her back to her tummy. While Cecilia has rolled (once) from her stomach to her back, Hadley has mastered her rolling so well that she can cross the room in a matter of a minute or two. We consciously put her in her crib on the far right knowing that by morning, or sooner, she will travel to the left side-- needing to be 'reset' to the opposite side. This has caused a disruption on nightly sleeping as she can quickly get stuck.

And finally.... just a little video with giggling babies-- who doesn't need a smile?! By the way, at least someone thinks I'm funny!
