Don't let these sweet faces fool you... Because the brains of two twins added together spells trouble and twin madness! Of course both of them are sweet and loving, but they are enjoying their world and love finding new ways to explore and have fun. I don't get upset that they can be such a handful... afterall there are two 20-month old girls! It's normal to be curious. The problem is that they are making me exhausted. On the bright side, I sleep like a baby each night!
Cecilia has taken to trying to remove her pants and diaper. Luckily she hasn't tried this during nap time. While I'm sure it's liberating to let it all hang out, I fear my carpets couldn't take it if we allowed 'pantless' times to occur. Mind you, the picture above is on top of our kitchen table. This is a common place to find the twins... all the centerpieces and placemats are long gone. I hope this is a passing phase because it's obviously not nice table etiquette unless you are at a college bar (but that's a blog post in another 20 years!).
The girls are now escape artists! Our front yard is essentially a courtyard surrounded by tall hedges that act as a natural fence. It's been nice to be outside with the kids because this keeps everyone in the yard and contained. Well, that was until Ceci had the brilliant idea and foresight to wonder 'what's on the other side of these bushes?!'. And no longer had she slipped through but Hadley followed suit. Moral of the story, don't plan to play outside unless I come armed with exciting toys and enthusiasm... otherwise the girls will make a break for the cul-de-sac and the world beyond. It's such a fun game for them and they don't yet see the importance of letting poor mom do a bit of weeding instead of acting as prison guard!

We are so blessed that these little turkey heads are healthy, strong and smart as cookies. This mom is truly in awe of their little brains.
