Demi's Surgery

Our old girl Demi tore her ACL a week ago walking out of the house. It probably had been in the act of tearing for sometime, but it finally gave out.  Luckily we were able to find a fabulous surgeon in the area to repair the tear last Thursday and now our sweet girl is home and resting.

It's tough to get Demi to rest because she feels as good as new! We have to keep her caged so she doesn't attempt running up and down the hallway with Gladys and to keep her from jumping on the couch. She's also embarrassed to be wearing a cone around her head-- which she has turned into a deadly weapon. I worry that she will destroy it before it can be removed. I remember that Brutus had the same difficulty too and eventually we had to resort to duct tape to hold the parts together.

It's amazing how great her leg looks and that she is feeling so good, so soon. The staples come out on Monday and the rehab will continue...
