Halloween ... or Bust!

I guess Halloween was a bit of a bust. Elise had a terrible cold and cough on Halloween morning. Enough so that she even missed school and we cancelled our traditional dinner/trick-or-treating with our friends the Hebekas. We thought we'd play the rainy, cold evening by ear.
Then, about 10 minutes before trick-or-treating was to start, Elise threw up at the dinner table- probably more from gagging on snot than an actual stomach ache. After changing clothes, Elise was convinced she didn't want to go out. Well, that was until the doorbell rang and she passed out our Halloween bags to the neighbors. By then, she was set to put on her costume and head out.
Elise dressed as a brown bunny-- a current favorite stuffed animal in her bed. We just went to the neighbors' houses and called it a night. Our bunny was tired and ready for bed. I assured her that next year more houses would pass out candy so we could go out longer then.
Poor thing. We ended up keeping Elise out of school the next day too. But she's already on the mend. This morning when I asked her what she wanted for breakfast, she responded, 'Something from my bag'. Guess my days of eating all of her candy are limited...
